Mounting: Hot and Cold Mounting Presses for Metallographic Sample Preparation

A mount is a lab-created object used to hold a sample – usually as a thick, flat disc of a uniform shape and size. It is created by embedding the sample in a mounting material, which is then cured to harden around the sample. The mount is then ground and polished allowing the user to conduct  metallographic analysis and/or  hardness testing. When it comes to ease of use and speed, LECO offers the most intuitive user interface and state of the art technology for  efficiency in hot mounting presses. The full spectrum of mounting materials for both compression molding and  cold mounting are available at LECO for any application.
